BDP Objectives and Guidelines
Benchmark Objectives
Our driving principle is to create benchmarks that are universally accepted and used by consumers, reviewers and all industry companies.
The enabling objectives are:
- Unbiased, objective and fair performance results
- Relevant workloads and measurement targets
- Right timing with new technology
- Easy to use and understand
Objective of the BDP
The objective of the BDP is to create valid and neutral benchmarks by working in close co-operation with program members. This cooperation results in products that meet both our objectives and our partners’ needs, protecting the long term interest of BDP members with benchmarks that are relevant, consistent, unbiased and beneficial to both industry and consumers.
BDP Guidelines
Through the BDP Program, Futuremark aims to ensure reliability and objectivity for all benchmark products. Futuremark develops software with openness in processes and listens to any and all stakeholders at every stage of development. Any benchmarking related decisions are prioritized by Futuremark, based on feedback from the BDP Program and from other sources, such as market research. To protect the integrity of the benchmark and all our BDP Members, Futuremark reserves the right to independently decide which benchmark or feature set it will finally develop and produce.
The BDP Program is an opportunity for joint research between Futuremark and BDP Members to exchange information and ideas about the future outlook of the computer and handheld device industry.
The key policy of the BDP is neutrality and participation is open to all applicable companies. Cooperation is always carried out with utmost confidentiality.
