PC.IGN has posted a preview on Digital Anvil's upcoming space sim, Freelaners, after getting a chance to check out the latest build. Here's a clipping:
Tearing through Bretonia space and firing at every Bretonian police and armed forces officer in sight isn't such a good idea since you'll then not be able to land on any of the planets or stations that they control. The robust map offers the ability to sort by political influence, so you can clearly see the sphere's of power you are encroaching on. But some factions, like the goddamned Bounty Hunter's Guild, seem to be able to sway others. When you anger them and enter a trade lane or jump point where they are hostile to you, you'll soon find that everyone else that's not a part of a loose assemblage of bastard criminals will also be mean. I can't tell if this is a problem with the beta code or not, but it can make life extremely difficult.
