The folks over at WarCry have whipped up a review on Crytek's hit first person shooter, Far Cry. The game walks away with a final score of 9.4/10. Here's something to chew on:

The surface areas of the game are, in my opinion, the most fun. The ability to really choose your own path is pretty great. There are so many areas in the game that you could possibly cut through the jungle instead of following the road. Everyone enjoys finding a secret path that lets you knife an unsuspecting enemy. Once you move inside, however, the game loses a lot of its magic because you run into quite a few hallways with a substantially lessened view. In these corridors, your line of site is limited to the length of the hallway. The interiors are well done, but it's kind of a shock to go from the lush outdoor shots of the island to the fairly plain indoor areas. Don't get me wrong, it's not that the indoor zones are bad. It's just that there's way too much of it. With a game engine that renders wide-open space so well, why would you want to do a bunch of indoor stuff?
