When Intel released the P965 chipset, Gigabyte created a number of motherboards, namely the DS3, DS4 and DQ6. The DS3 was a particularly well received product, and was quite possibly the best-selling P965 motherboard on the market. With the arrival of the successor P35 chipset, Gigabyte has decided to continue the DS3 moniker.
"It's inexpensive, as fast as other P35 boards and overclocks like a beast. You could certainly do better on the included feature and accessories front, but that's not like it doesn't give you plenty of expandability on-board. If I was looking for an inexpensive, solid performing, future proof backbone to a new system; the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R would certainly be high on my list."

Heres what they had to say:
The Gigabyte P5-DS3R is a good motherboard that is well built, overclocks like crazy and is built around the latest Intel chipset. After the prices settle down, this will be one to watch for as you prepare to upgrade or build the rig of yours.

Overall, it seems like a terrific motherboard. However, at present, the price is too high for my liking. Once inventories start increasing, the price should take a plunge.
Upon doing some research, I found another version of this board, the P35C-DS3R. What does the C give you? Both DDR2 and DDR3 slots! I suspect this hybrid motherboard is going to be a hot item, assuming the price is reasonable.
