While some people were not initially impressed by the performance of ATIs next-generation HD 2600 series, with new drivers and price reductions, these cards provide solid bang-for-the-buck. TweakTown has just posted a review of the Pali HD 2600PRO and HD 2600XT Sonic graphics cards.
Lets see what they had to say:
HD 2600 PRO in two words? Absolutely Brilliant! This is the reason its so important to include pricing into the structure. You have a card that is priced at the same level as the 8500 GT and manages not only to beat it but kill it every time.
The HD 2600 XT is also an excellent performing card, but with what the PRO offers as far as bang for buck goes, its hard to look past. Focusing on the 8600 GT vs HD 2600 XT debate, we would probably recommend you opt for the 8600 GT at the moment.
At this point in time, when it comes to mid-level graphics cards, there is no clear winner in my opinion. Nevertheless, the HD 2600's are constantly improving, they provide terrific high-definition video playback, and they are very inexpensive.
