JonnyGURU and PC Perspective have posted reviews of the SilverStone OP1000-E 1000W power supply.

Here’s what they had to say:

  • JonnyGURU::

    “Back when jonnyGURU tested the original OP1000, it just barely edged out the PC P&C Turbocool 1kW to land a total score of 9. That was back when these two companies were only competing with each other. Now, everyone and their dog is offering a 1kW unit. Some of these are, quite frankly, better power supplies than both of those units were. The competition has gotten a lot tougher. And so, I find myself asking: is the OP1000-E enough of an improvement to continue competing with the tougher units out there now? And the answer to this, I believe, is yes. But just barely.”

  • PC Perspective::

    “The SilverStone OP1000-E 1,000W proved to be an excellent power supply and certainly warrants serious consideration if you are in the market for a high-quality, high-capacity PSU. It produced excellent voltage regulation and delivers clean outputs with good efficiency and minimal noise. And the SilverStone OP1000-E does all this inside a compact chassis that only measures 150mm deep.
    While the majority of high-end power supply manufacturers now offer five years or more of warranty support, SilverStone holds onto their 3-year warranty.”

This is a fairly good 1000W unit, but the Corsair HX1000W is still the better choice.
