Benchmark Reviews, High Tech Reviews, TestFreaks, and Tweaknews have reviewed a few Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices from QNAP, Seagate, and Thecus.
Let's see what they had to say:
- Benchmark Reviews: QNAP TS-419P NAS 4-Bay Network Storage:
"The QNAP TS-419P Turbo NAS server is going to be an excellent alternative to small data clusters or a file server stuffed with drives. The additional functionality should certainly not go overlooked, because it could save your company money in other departments or cut the cost of buying additional equipment for your home business. The TS-419P offers four bays of SATA storage, allowing RAID configuration possibilities most other all-in-one products cannot offer, and satisfies the storage-space intensive corporate market as well as SOHO power-users at the same time. If you're an IT professional looking to offer a network-attached mass-storage server with redundant data arrays and network failover features, the QNAP TS-419P is great for storage-centric operational needs with a low startup cost."

- High Tech Reviews: Thecus N0503 ComboNAS Review:
"The only con we could come up with is that some people will say this device is to expensive for what does, I feel just the opposite. When you have a device that is like a chameleon and can change skin in such a way as this one does it it worth the extra cash you will pay for it.
I also feel that if you have taken the time to read the entire review as it has been presented, you will agree with us when we say that the Thecus N0503 may very well be the best and most configurable NAS on the market today. What other device give you the option of installing five 2.5" drives or three 3.5 drives?"

- TestFreaks: Seagate BlackArmor NAS 110 1TB NAS Box :
"The Seagate BlackArmor NAS110 is fast, very fast, and its easy to setup and get going with. In a matter of minutes you can have this box up and running on your network and even have outside access setup as well in that same time frame. The BlackArmor NAS110 is nicely made and designed, it looks nice, its small making it able to fit most anywhere really, so you can easily just stick it somewhere out of site if need be. The NAS110 works, and works well, it does what it should, when it should.
I like the BlackArmor NAS series quite a bit honestly, for one its got a cool name, but besides that they work great, theyre easy to use and setup and theyre inexpensive compared to others out there really."

- Tweaknews: Thecus N0503 Combo NAS Review:
"Thecus brings a lot to the table with the N0503 Combo NAS. You have the choice of using up to five 2.5 drives or up to three 3.5 drives for storage, and the new, more polished AJAX-based web interface is a step in the right direction. All the familiar features are here too including the media server, print server, web server, and a myriad of other functions that are all customizable for your particular needs. The unit is compatible with a variety of operating systems too including Windows 7, Unix/Linux, and Mac OS 9/X, so it should have no problem finding a home on just about any home or small office network."
