Hardware Secrets have reviewed two Zalman ZM-series power supplies, in 600W and 700W output capacities. Both of these models feature four +12V rails and are 80PLUS Bronze certified.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • Hardware Secrets: Zalman ZM600-RS Power Supply Review:

"The problem with Zalman products these days is pricing. This unit is sold in the US for USD 125, which is a little bit above the level we could give a definite buy recommendation. At this price level we have Nexus RX-6300, which provides higher efficiency, higher wattage, lower ripple and noise level and a modular cabling system. On the other hand it presents higher efficiency than products that are sold for a lower price, like the units from Seventeam (ST-650P-AF and ST-750P-AF) and SilverStone Element ST75EF.

The new Zalman ZM600-RS is a good product if you have USD 125 on your budget to spend on a power supply and can’t find Nexus RX-6300."

  • Hardware Secrets: Zalman ZM770-XT Power Supply Review:

"The problem with this unit is that it is very expensive for what it is. At USD 193 we simply can’t recommend it, as you can find better products costing less. You can even get a Seasonic X-Series 650 W – the best power supply we’ve ever tested – costing less. Some examples of better options include Nexus RX-8500 (USD 150, 850 W, modular cabling system, four cables for video cards), Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850 W (USD 180, 850 W, modular cabling system, six cables for video cards) and Corsair HX750W (USD 165, 750 W, modular cabling system, higher efficiency, four video card cables), just to name a few. Even the overpriced Ultra X4 850 W (USD 200, 850 W, full modular cabling system, six video card cables) is a better option than Zalman ZM770-XT."

While these may be decent enough power supplies, I probably wouldn't recommend either one over the new Thermaltake Thermaltake TRX-750M.
