Funky Kit and Overclockers Online have reviewed the CoolIT ECO A.L.C. CPU cooler, an affordable self-contained water cooling kit.

Here's what they had to say:

  • Funky Kit:

"What's makes the CoolIT ECO A.L.C cooling system so attractive, is its affordability and ease if use. All you had to do is mount the waterblock unit over your CPU and lock it in place, just like you do with a regular heatsink+fan. As far as aesthetics are concerned, don't expect the CoolIT ECO A.L.C to look like the stuff you'll find on some of the highly modded watercooled PCs out there. It doesn't have any UV reactive tubing or any see-through resevoirs ... it's not that kind of product. It may look boring, but it's only meant to do one thing ... and that is to provide a high-performance liquid cooling solution that's easy to install."

  • Overclockers Online:

"In review, today we’ve seen an outstanding performance by a top-notch manufacturer. The ECO was not without its flaws. Even with its shortcomings enthusiasts will find good cooling performance with the ECO and will be able to breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their liquid cooling system has a two year warranty and is rated for more than 50,000 hours of use. CoolIT has offered an outstanding package at a great price point.

Of course, if you have a little modders spirit, you can turn a good product into a great cooling solution by replacing the fan. The ECO has earned its place in my system, as it is able to keep my unlocked Phenom II temperatures low in a quiet manner."

While this is a good product, it has now been overshadowed by the recently released Corsair Hydro H70.
