Funky Kit, Hardware Secrets, and Overclockers Online have posted a review of the Thermaltake Frio, a sleek enthusiast-oriented red & black CPU cooler.
Let's see what they had to say:
- Funky Kit:
"As a standard CPU cooler, I think the Thermaltake Frio is great product. As for overclocking, it manages very well and I have no problems recommending it. There are a couple of issues, which I found a little annoying. These include the little rheostat controllers, which I mentioned before in the Jing review. They protrude out and hang over from the fan connectors on the motherboard. It's a little messy and it might get in the way of certain components. The other more concerning issue is the noise level. If you're overclocking, you'll probably need to set the fan speeds to maximum. However, at the maximum settings, the noise level of the VR fans can be very distracting and noisy. I guess you have have to find the right balance, and the right mix of fan speed and overclocked CPU."

- Hardware Secrets:
"Thermaltake did a great job with the Frio. It reaches the same cooling performance of the most efficient cooler we tested so far, which means it is a true high-end air cooler. As expected on a top-performance cooler, its weak point is its noise level, but you can use the included potentiometers to slow down the fans, reducing noise.
The good point is that Frio is not too expensive. Its price tag is compatible with most similar-designed coolers."

- Overclockers Online:
"From the onset when I saw Designed for Overclocking on the box it was clear the Frio was meant to perform, and with that statement on the box it better. On this front the Frio delivered as it matched the performance of other top air coolers. Combined with compatibility for all of the newest CPU sockets, two fans and built in fan speed controllers the Frio is certainly an attractive option to keep your CPU cool.
