Hardware Secrets, KitGuru, OCIA, PureOverclock, Rbmods, and techPowerUp have reviewed 600W to 850W power supplies from Cooler Master, Corsair, Enermax, OCZ, Scythe, and Sentry.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • Hardware Secrets: Corsair TX850 V2 850W Power Supply Review:

"The Corsair TX850 V2 can really deliver its labeled wattage at high temperatures, provides decent efficiency between 82% and 86%, superb voltage regulation, and ultra low noise and ripple levels. In summary, it is a good power supply for the user who is concerned about quality and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money on an 850 W product."

  • Hardware Secrets: Enermax NAXN 80+ 600W Power Supply Review:

"The Enermax NAXN 80+ 600 W is a power supply targeted to the average user. For this kind of user, it provides a very good value, with high efficiency ranging from 83.1% to 86.6% if you pull between 120 W and 480 W (dropping to 80.2% at 600 W), very low noise and ripple levels, and very good cable configuration (not many 600 W units provide seven SATA power connectors). Voltage regulation, although not “flawless,” is acceptable, especially for the market share this unit is targeted at."

  • KitGuru: Cooler Master GX650 650W Power Supply Review:

"Cooler Master set some lofty goals for the new GX650 power supply – offer a cost effective solution for the mass market while delivering solid all round performance. The new updated Enhance design achieves 80 Plus Bronze efficiency ratings in our testing and it held solid over several weeks of ‘real world’ testing, including powering a high end system with an overclocked nVidia GTX580 and Intel Core i7 980X processor.

The technical analysis shows that the design is effective. There are some minor fluctuations with Cross Load Testing on the 12V+ output, but it is nothing significant or worrying. Noise suppression is also a strong point, with all rails holding well within the rated parameters. 12V+ peaked at 45 mV which is a good result."

  • OCIA: Sentey GSP850-SM 850W Power Supply Review:

"How did the quality of Sentey's power supply compare to what I have seen with their cases? Quite well, I would say. An 850w PSU has a lot of juice standing behind it and during our admittedly limited testing, the flow of power stayed rock solid. I would be confident in loading it up with dual GPUs and other power hungry devices, within reason of course.

The SuperFlower base must be popular as there seems to be one or two other manufacturers using it for their 850w power supplies. This isn't uncommon and most companies don't manufacture their own power supplies, but rather rebrand existing OEM units as their own."

  • PureOverclock: OCZ ZX Series 850W Power Supply Review:

"The OCZ ZX Series 850W is a power supply that delivers solid features and performance and does it in a sleek aesthetic as well. From a functional standpoint, the ZX has excellent voltage regulation and efficiency. With a single +12V rail and 70 Amps available here, it will run just about any dual-GPU system setup without breakinga sweat. It's also very quiet at idle and load, with the fan managing to keep noise levels impressively low."

  • Rbmods: Enermax Modu87+ 700W Power Supply Review:

"Even though the voltage values of Enermax EMG700AWT were not as good as the ones we saw in Nexus, they’re still quite impressive. Only very small margins between idle and load values definitely marks of quality. Being also one of the most silent power supplies I’ve ever encountered, I can surely promise that anyone who has the 169€ and is considering buying a new power supply won’t be disappointed! This is one of the best modular power supplies I’ve ever seen. My recommendations!"

  • techPowerUp: Scythe Chouriki 2 Plug-In 850W Power Supply Review:

"Nowadays power supplies with high ripple voltage are unacceptable. Some drawbacks that are not related to +12V can be overlooked, but high ripple on this essential line can't be tolerated. Combined with the high asking price, it is difficult to recommend this unit. However if you find it for under $100 and you don't mind the high ripple, which shortens capacitors life and has a negative impact on other components, then you can give it a try."
