LanOC, Overclockers Club, PureOverclock, and TechREACTION have reviewed the brand new Cooler Master GeminII S524 CPU cooler.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • LanOC:

"The Cooler Master GeminII S524 surprised me. First, I didn’t think I would like even the look once it was dropped into my case. Second, I am a huge fan of dual quiet fans in a push/pull configuration. I typically see at least an additional of 2 degrees Celsius drop in temperature. The Noctua focuses on keeping the noise down, but there haven’t been many single fan coolers that have beat it in cooling ability as well.

The GeminII S524 surpassed my expectations in cooling. It beat the Noctua in every test and the single fan kept the noise down well. The added benefit of more airflow across the memory and mainboard in general is a good sell as well. Once the cooler was installed in my rig, it actually looks pretty good. It grew on me the longer I used it. With an MSRP of $39.99 this is a very reasonably priced cooler."

  • Overclockers Club:

"Though the GeminII S524 isn't a hugely strong competitor in these tests, it is by far the smallest of the comparison models, and truthfully, it serves a different purpose. The Hyper 612 PWM is meant to be big, bulky, and a powerhouse performer for keeping your processor cool. On the other hand, there's no way that this monster would EVER fit into a mini ITX case. So, if it's not some large tower heatsink and still performs far better than the stock cooler, then something like the GeminII S524 would be a good choice."

  • PureOverclock:

"Installation is straightforward and better yet, was easily installed without have to remove our motherboard. The overall size of the cooler is fine but there could be clearance issues with taller memory modules.

Top cooling performance isn't the hallmark of this cooler, but it get the job done nicely with low noise levels. There isn't any sort of knockout punch here today but the GeminII S524 is a solid all-around cooler that comes with an attractive price, much lower than most other premium top-down coolers on the market."

  • TechREACTION:

"The Cooler Master GeminII S524 is a great cooler that has more than enough cooling potential for stock builds that want to be silent. It also has excellent cooling potential for users who want to push their hardware as far as they can; the 4.0Ghz San Ace test is a good example of this. The only thing we would have liked to see with the S524 us a simpler install method."
