ASUS G74SX 17-inch Gaming Notebook Review

Hardware Canucks have posted a review of the new and high-end ASUS G74SX-A1 gaming notebook, which features a 17.3-inch 1920x1080 display, quad-core/eight-thread 2.0-2.9Ghz processor, 12GB of RAM, 1.5TB 7200RPM HDD, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M 3GB GPU.

Here's what they had to say:

"There’s no denying it: the G74SX impressed us but there are some minor annoyances, many of which can be easily overcome. It is a great potential desktop replacement that boasts solid build quality and a high level of overall system performance. At under $1800, this ASUS gaming notebook is a near-perfect option for anyone in search of notebook with some added muscle without paying the heavyweight price many of its competitors demand."


At 9.4 pounds the G74 is obviously not really that portable, but it is a phenomenal desktop replacement (DTR) gaming notebook.
