ThinkComputers and XtremeComputing have reviewed the Zotac ZBOX AD02 Plus, which is a compact HTPC system which is based on the AMD Fusion E-350 CPU and features an integrated Radeon HD 6310 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 250GB 5400RPM HDD, USB 3.0 ports, and onboard 802.11n WiFi.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • ThinkComputers:

"For the home theater PC crowd the ZBOX HD-AD02 is a great choice, not only is it small it has everything you need to get it setup in your home theater. It has an HDMI connection so you can easily connect it to your TV. It also has optical out for great audio. The included 250GB hard drive may not be enough space but that can always be upgraded. You also have 4 USB 2.0 ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports and an eSATA port for expansion. The system is capable of easily playing both 720p and 1080p media without any issues.

If you are looking for this to be a desktop replacement it may be the right thing for you if you are not doing anything that intensive. This system would be perfect for an Internet machine, something you use to surf the web and do small tasks with."

  • XtremeComputing:

"I have to say I was quite surprised with this little box of tricks, not only does the Zotac ZBOX AD02 Plus tick all the net box requirements, It also ticks HTPC requirements as well. I did not in no way expect the numbers I saw I was really expecting a few hundred less across most of the scores.

Zotac are really becoming the kings of ITX in my opinion and have some fantastic options including this little box of tricks, I have to say the fact it was easy to take apart I would easily recommend even the barebones version to someone who is seeking something for a media pc or a net top."

This is an cheap, sleek little system and it would be fantastic for an HTPC or casual PC.
