Funky Kit and HardwareHeaven have reviewed the brand new SteelSeries Simraceway SRW-S1 steering wheel.

    "The Steelseries SRW-S1 racing wheel has tons of potential to be awesome. It has many great features that make it a must buy. For anyone who has wanted a racing wheel but has not done so due to space restrictions, this wheel is for you. But I must say that if you have the space go and get a full sized wheel, pedals, and shifter since a wheel only cannot compare.

    At its currently listed price, $120USD the SRW-S1 racing wheel leaves much to be desired. Something as simple as a small desk mount could make that price tag worth it. But when compared to something like an Xbox controller the price is just too much. It is not wireless and does not offer force feedback, two things that most inexpensive controllers offer at half the price."

    "Looking at the build quality of the SRW-S1 first it is hard to fault the product. The wheel feels durable and solid, like it could take a lot of punishment or bumps and bashes in transit and there are no flimsy parts or low quality buttons on the devices.

    The design is also very good, for the most part. The rubber contoured grips feel great in the hand, offering loads of comfort and the paddles on the back work well with just the right amount of resistance. The front buttons are also within easy reach when gaming which is important.

    That said there is one key omission from the SRW-S1 which stops it from scoring higher in design and that is the lack of a rumble/vibration function."

This seems like a terrific feature-rich steering wheel for those who do not want the additional hassle of pedals.
