AMD have just launched their next-generation mainstream GPUs, the Radeon HD 7850 and HD 7870. This new HD 7700 series is manufactured on the cutting-edge 28nm processs and utilizes the brand new Pitcairn GPU core that features an impressive 2.8 billion transistors. The HD 7850 features 1024 Stream Processors with a 860Mhz core speed, 2GB of 4.8GHz GDDR5 connected to a 256-bit memory interface, and a 130W TDP. The Radeon HD 7870 has 1280 Stream Processors with a 1000Mhz core speed, 2GB of 4.8GHz GDDR5 connected to a 256-bit memory interface, and a higher 175W TDP.
