Steam Machines reviews

Steam Machines Comparison

A Steam Machine is a PC for your living room. Play your games on your big screen TV while sitting comfortably on your sofa. Steam Machines run a Linux-based operating system called SteamOS and are controlled with a gamepad instead of a mouse and keyboard.

At CES in January 2014, Valve announced details of the first generation of Steam Machines. More machines were revealed at GDC in March 2015, though in some cases the hardware details and prices remain unknown. Vendors are welcome to contact us to confirm or correct the hardware specifications and prices on this page.

The first batch of machines come with a wide variety of hardware with prices to match. We'll update this page as new details emerge so check back regularly for the latest figures.

  • This table is based on the information released to date, however, all details are subject to change.
  • 3DMark scores are based on 3DMark Fire Strike scores from Windows systems with similar hardware. Higher is better. Performance under SteamOS with Linux drivers may be different.
  • Value is the 3DMark score divided by price. A higher value means more performance for your money. It does not account for the value of the motherboard, memory, storage or any accessories.
