XFX GeForce 8600GTS XXX

It's what all you people on a budget have been waiting for, a review of the nVidia mid range DX10 card, the 8600GTS. However this is no ordinary 8600GTS, this is the XFX XXX type, which we all know comes factory overclocked, pushing the mid range that little bit further.

The guys at TweakTown have this fantastic little card for testing; here is a little of what they had to share:

"nVidia’s GeForce 8600GTS is a fantastic graphics card; it does exactly what it’s supposed - it gives budget conscious users the opportunity to climb into the DX10 gaming arena for when PC games like Crysis, UT2003 and Alan Wake are released later this year."

Whilst you won't be hitting 10K in 3DMark06, from the looks of things you will have a pretty decent gaming card for future gaming. Let's not forget you get two dual link DVI ports which are also HDCP complaint and DX10 compatibility. On the specification side, it's should keep you happy.

The full review is great, showing you how the does in most of today's games and benchmarks. One of the big advantages of this card is that it doesn't appear to be as beastly in size as its literally bigger siblings; the 8800 series!
