Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker Review
Here's something that sounds a little interesting; 5.1 speakers for your computer that could blow you away, but without being so hard on your wallet. Audiophiles will have you believe that cheap speakers aren't very good, and that you get what you pay for, but I think it's not always the case.
The good folk over at TWEAKNEWS have the budget conscious Logitech X-540 5.1 to listen to in their labs. Here is what they had to say:
"Logitech's X-540 5.1 speaker system has a lot to recommend it. The speakers sound great and the fit and finish is outstanding. Logitech has done a great job of packing some excellent performance into a small package that will fit nicely on and around most people's computer station. A rich feature set and several mounting options combine with dead-simple setup to give the consumer an excellent 5.1 PC speaker system at a very reasonable price."
It certainly looks like a nice 5.1 setup, and with a price of around $75 US, your bank manager will be pleased! Having a look through the pictorial walk through, I was expecting the parts to look pretty cheap given the price, but I have to admit, they seem pretty well made.
As is with speaker reviews, it's pretty hard to ascertain just how good they are. What sounds good to one person might not be for another. Same goes for what you see when you review an LCD. Don't let this put you off though, as Logitech usually do impress.
