Razer Pro|Type Keyboard Review
We had a nice preview of the Razer Pro|Type Keyboard not too long ago, and it seemed very promising. Gorgeous looks, great software bundle and quite a unique set of features, but it worth the asking price of around $130!
The Razer Tarantula was quite a stunning keyboard and the Pro|Type shares a few of the styling aspects. Sal Cangeloso from XYZ Computing has the Razer Pro|Type and here is a little of what he had to share:
"A lot of the initial excitement about the Pro|Type has had to do with its integrated iPod dock. The Tarantula has a modular bay that can be outfitted with a number of different accessories, like a light or speakers, and other things that can be useful to gamers.
The Pro uses this space for an iPod, something that a lot of people, designers or otherwise, will be able to take advantage of. It's a bit gimmicky, but definitely useful. The dock is fully functional, so it can be used to charge or sync your iPod, as well as give you a safe place to stay put when not in use. They keyboard takes this notion a step further by including a line-out jack so that the iPod can connect to speakers without the computer."
Admittedly the iPod connector does seem a little gimmicky, but you have to give Razer credit for producing a product which caters for one of the most prevalent mp3 players out on the market. In a way it will be great in reducing the amount of clutter you have on your desk which is always a problem given the amount of devices you can collect these days.
As you'd expect from the XYZ guys, the full review is excellent, giving you a lot of gorgeous pictures of a very aesthetically pleasing peripheral! My only concern is that it's white.
