Foxconn X38A Digital Life Motherboard Review
TweakTown has posted a review of the
Foxconn X38A Digital Life motherboard.
Let’s see what they had to say:
“Foxconn has provided us boards in the past, but nothing of this level. Foxconn has been more on the OEM and budget radar, but today we have seen the first of what we hope to be many mainstream and overclockers boards; their X38A has proven to us that they have what it takes, and hopefully even more.
When the X38A arrived it looked impressive but today it takes more than looks to get a good rating; you need overclocking and features and the X38A does a good job of pushing the boundaries of the X38 which isn’t the greatest overclocking chipset due to its heat problems.”
While there are arguably better and cheaper X38 motherboards on the market, such as the ASUS P5E and GIGABYTE GA-X38-DS4, the Foxconn X38A is the only one with both DDR2 and DDR3 memory slots. This makes it a good choice for those who plan to upgrade to DDR3 when prices come down.
