Five-Way Enthusiast Motherboard Roundup

Driver Heaven has just posted a motherboard roundup, featuring five enthusiast motherboards from Asus and MSI.

By testing five motherboards with various chipsets and memory configurations we were able to see that choice of motherboard really does have an impact on Core 2 performance. Overall the board which performed best was the Asus Maximus Extreme, which also has the most impressive features but each of the other boards tested had a strong argument for purchasing.

While the Asus Maximus Extreme may be the best choice when it comes to overall performance and overclocking potential, the Maximus Formula is definitely the much better value, especially since it only requires DDR2.
