Sparkle GeForce 8800GTS 512MB Review

MadShrimps has posted a review of the Sparkle GeForce 8800GTS 512MB graphics card.

“Price wise, I still have my doubts. Yes, the 512MB GTS does leave the older G80 GTS biting the dust, but compared to the 8800 GT there are only few benefits which you can really notice. The heatsink might be one of the most valuable things as powerful aftermarket heatsinks can increase overall cost up to €50. Gaming performance is great but as seen above you may not always experience higher frame rates in-game, let alone that you will notice an actual difference in gameplay. In the end, this card has great performance for its price, but it can not match the price/performance ratio of the 8800 GT.”

Aside from some minor clock speed differences, every GeForce 8800GTS 512MB on the market is effectively identical, since they are all based on the reference design. Therefore, if you are looking to buy one, find the one with the best bundle, or biggest mail-in rebate.
