ASUS Maximus Extreme Motherboard Reviews

Wed 2008-02-06 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
PCSTATS and X-bit Labs have posted reviews of the Asus Maximus Extreme, an X38 Express DDR3 motherboard.

Let’s see what they had to say:

  • PCSTATS:

“The Asus Maximus Extreme was most impressive in the overclocking tests and PCSTATS got the motherboard to hit a very sweet 545 MHz FSB! That's definitely high enough to push your processor and memory to its limits! Man I haven't been into hard core overclocking for quite some time, but playing with the latest Intel P35 Express and X38 Express motherboards certainly makes me want to get back into it!

The Asus Maximus Extreme is for the computer enthusiast who has deep pockets. This is a very fast motherboard but to get the most out of it, you'll need to equip it with high end components.”

  • X-bit Labs:

“ASUS Maximus Extreme doesn’t give you a single reason for disappointment. Right from the start when you open the box you get the feeling that the manufacturer did its real best to accommodate all your needs and wishes and make the work with this solution a pleasant and memorable experience. This feeling comes from the accessories bundle, the PCB layout, outstanding and rich features – absolutely all work aspects. A few frustrating issues, such as inability to adjust rotation speed of three-pin fans and ignored power-saving technologies do not allow us to call ASUS Maximus Extreme an ideal mainboard. But ideal mainboards simply do not exist, and ASUS Maximus Extreme got extremely close to this title.”
