OCZ Unveils World’s Fastest 4GB DDR2 Memory Kit

Sat 2008-04-12 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Unimpressed with current 4GB DDR2 memory kits? Well you will be glad to know that OCZ has just announced the new PC2-9200 Flex II XLC memory kit, which features an elaborate liquid convention heatsink.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Delft, Netherlands—April 10, 2008—OCZ Technology Group (LSE: OCZ), a worldwide leader in innovative, ultra-high performance and high reliability memory, today unveiled the Flex II memory series, designed for blazing speeds demanded by enthusiasts. These premium modules run at incredibly fast DDR2-1150 speeds for high-performance systems with integrated water-cooling. Designed to the very core to offer enthusiasts the thermal management innovation of hybrid water and passive cooling, the new PC2-9200 Flex II Series offers rock-solid stability and performance for your high-end gaming or overclocking system.”

1150Mhz 5-5-5 at 2.1V is quite impressive, and if that wasn’t enough, an OCZ representative suggested that it should be able to hit 1200Mhz with little to no added voltage. It will be interesting to see what reviewers have to say about the new Flex II XLC heatsink, since other kits will undoubtedly utilize this new design.
