ViewSonic VX1940w 19-Inch LCD Monitor Review
Bit-Tech has just posted a review of the ViewSonic VX1940w 19-inch LCD widescreen monitor. What makes this monitor unique is that it sports a 1680 x 1050 resolution, which is usually reserved for larger displays.
Let’s see what they had to say:
“Clearly the ViewSonic VX1940w is not a mass market monitor that will convince the mainstream hordes to ditch their 22-inch panels. But it could be extremely attractive for a few niche markets and for those able to divert their attention away from simple screen acreage.
Obviously, it's a great solution when space is in short supply. No doubt LAN gamers will appreciate the combination of high detail, speedy pixel response and compact, travel-friendly dimensions. It also makes for a very nice low-profile secondary display with decent resolution, perhaps to compliment a large 30-inch primary panel.”
The VX1940w is ideal for those who need a smaller display, but who don’t want to compromise on resolution. As a bonus, because of its small viewing area and high resolution, this unit sports a tiny 0.243mm pixel pitch, which should provide an exceptionally extremely crisp viewing experience.
The 1000:1 static/3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 2ms response time are also noteworthy.
At $200-230, it is expensive, comparable to several 20” and 22” models, but that’s not particularly relevant in this case. To my knowledge, there is only one comparable LCD monitor on the market, the Acer X193W+BD, which retails for slightly more affordable $180-190.
