Corsair Dominator PC3-14400 4GB Memory Kit Preview
As I expected after Super Talent's recent unveiling of their new high-end 4GB DDR3 memory kit, a competing product has already appeared in the form of the Corsair Dominator PC3-14400 4GB memory kit, which was just been previewed by X-bit Labs.
Here’s an excerpt:
“However, as we have shown in our previous articles, DDR3-1800 SDRAM provides better performance during overclocking especially in system equipped with 4GB of RAM. From this prospective, Corsair Dominator TW3X4G1800C8DF G that can run at 1800MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings is an excellent choice for hard-edged overclocking fans hunting for maximum system performance at any rate. Especially since there are no other 4GB memory kits in the market today that could offer similar characteristics, and buying two 2GB DDR3 memory kits with the same parameters may end up being even more expensive.”
Non-Micron chips in a high-end memory kit? Aghast! In all seriousness though, if Corsair chose Samsung chips for their top-of-the-line Dominator model, you can be assured that it’s good stuff. Having said that, Super Talent is using Micron chips in their upcoming 4GB memory kit, so it will be very interesting to see how both kits compare to each other.
