MSI Launches P7N2 Diamond Motherboard

Sun 2008-04-27 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
MSI has just revealed the P7N2 Diamond, an Nvidia nForce 790i Ultra SLI-based motherboard which they claim is the ultimate gaming platform.

Here’s what they had to say:

“MSI launches the MSI P7N2 Diamond a new member in the award winning MSI P7N series. The MSI P7N2 Diamond is based on the Nvidia 790i Ultra SLI chipset. The new mainboard supports 3-way SLI and is based on the MSI GreenPower Design. The high-end MSI P7N2 Diamond is equipped with a brand new circu-pipe cooling system, Hi-c CAP (next generation solid capacitors), onboard soft-touch buttons for reset & power, CMOS and a Creative Sound Blaster X-FI-Xtreme audio card!”

Aside from the fact that it utilizes the nForce 790i chipset, and thus requires DDR3 memory, the P7N2 Diamond appears to be identical to the P7N Diamond, which is great since the latter is an exceptionally feature-packed motherboard. I expect the P7N2 Diamond to retail in the $350-380 range, which would put it inline with competing products from EVGA and XFX.
