ASUS EAH3850 X2 & EAH3870 X2 Reviews
Planning to buy one of ASUS’ Radeon dual-GPU graphics cards? Well, Bit-Tech has posted a review of the ASUS EAH3870 X2 1GB, while I4U has reviewed the EAH3850 X2 1GB graphics card.
Let’s see what they had to say:
- Bit-Tech:
Asus EAH3870 X2 1GB:
“On the whole then, I think that the Asus EAH3870 X2 is a good choice compared to what’s on offer from other partners on both red and green fronts. It will undoubtedly please the multi-monitor crowd and that’s where I see this card making the most headway. A word of warning though: Asus has two EAH3870 X2 cards—one with four DVI ports (this one), and one that follows the reference design pretty closely—so if you’re unsure, please do check with the retailer before purchasing.”

- I4U: Asus EAH3850 X2 Video Card Review:
“If you want the single fastest ATI graphics card this side of Asus’ own EAH3870 X2, the EAH3850 X2 we are looking at today is the way to go. This card has lots of performance at a good price and looks pretty cool too.”

The price difference between the EAH3850 X2 and the EAH3870 X2 is now about $25, so there is little incentive to choose the lower-end version.
However, the big question is whether the X2’s are actually worth the money when compared to GeForce 9600GT’s in SLI configuration. The latter are not only cheaper, but significantly faster.
