MemoRight GT 32GB Solid State Drive Review

Tue 2008-05-27 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
TweakTown has just reviewed the MemoRight GT 32GB solid state drive, including some RAID 0 testing.

Here’s what they had to say:

“The MemoRight GT is currently the fastest hard drive I have tested, and when paired for use in RAID 0 the performance gets even better. As with other Solid State Drives, the cost of ownership is going to limit sales, but pro users and those that travel a great deal will ensure that the demand is still available to take up the supply. RAID 0 performance with two drives is terrific, but pro users will need more space and even more speed when working with many large files.”

Featuring 120MB/s read & write speeds, the MemoRight GT is much faster than most consumer-oriented SSDs, but a little slower than the recently announced Mtron PRO 7500. While these drives remain cost prohibitive, we should all be able to affordably reap the speed benefits of this new technology in 18-24 months.
