GeIL EVO ONE PC2-8500 4GB Memory Kit Review

Thu 2008-05-29 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
3DGameMan has posted a review of the GeIL EVO ONE PC2-8500 4GB memory kit.

Let’s see what he had to say:

“With a fast memory speed and a reasonably tight memory timing, GeIL EVO ONE memory was definitely designed with the gamer in mind. Not only that, it's available in either a dual channel configuration or a quad channel configuration at PC2-6400 & PC2-8500 speeds. Where this DDR2 memory sets itself apart from most other memory is it's MTCD Technology (Maximized Thermal Conduction & Dissipation). There are other memory companies doing something similar but most just have an aluminum heatspreader to dissipate the heat. These memory modules have a heatspreader, heatpipe and fins which allows them to clock higher and remain cooler. Overclocking is also very good and I hear the PC2-6400 kits are doing very great as well. So if you still prefer DDR2 memory over DDR3 be sure to put this memory on your 'consider to buy' list.”

Along with the Crucial Ballistix Tracer and OCZ Flex II PC2-9200, the GeIL EVO ONE is regarded as one of the best 4GB DDR2 memory kits, particularly if want to overclock. So if you can find them in stock and for a good price, don’t hesitate to buy them.
