Kingston PC2-8500 4GB Memory Kit Review

Sun 2008-07-13 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
TechWareLabs has posted a review of the Kingston PC2-8500 4GB memory kit.

Here’s an excerpt:

“The results from Everest's Memory Benchmark were showing very minor differences between the 2GB kits of Cruical Ballistix and Kingston HyperX. Kingston took the lead in both the Memory Latency and the Memory Copy, where as Cruical took the lead in the Memory Write and Read. When we tested the system with the 4GB kit of Kingston HyperX Memory, there was only a significant difference shown in the Latency, where most of the other scores remained the same.”

This looks like a decent, if unremarkable, 4GB DDR2 memory kit. However, if you are planning on overclocking, there are several more suitable options from the likes of Crucial, GeIL, Mushkin, and OCZ.
