PC Case Review Roundup – In Win, Thermaltake, Tuniq & More
BigBruin, BurnOutPC, HardwareLogic, and
TechwareLabs have reviewed PC cases from Danger Den, In Win, Thermaltake, and Tuniq.
Let’s see what they had to say:
- Bigbruin: Thermaltake Armor+ MX VH8000BWS Mid Tower ATX Case Review:
“You can’t ever say that something is perfect, but overall the Thermaltake Armor+ MX VH8000BWS mid tower ATX case is very satisfying. The only thing it lacks is the enormous void that a full tower provides you with. It has succeeded in providing ease of installation, maintenance and functionality. In this small(er) package you get a majority of the conveniences available on the market today, without shelling out the big bucks or giving up the big space. This is a quality case worth considering.
The styling of the case is another key feature. The Armor series from Thermaltake has a distinctive look thanks to the protective shields (flaps) up front, but overall the case has a simple, neutral look that could fit in just about anywhere. Cooling is another strong point with this case, as there are three fans included to get the job done. In addition to two 120mm fans, a 230mm fan in the side panel keeps the air moving without making much noise.”

- BurnOutPC: Tuniq 3 Casing reviewed:
“This is definitely a case that will satisfy all your needs in terms of ventilation, esthetic and functionality. The fan bracket is a nice addition to cool down your hardware but if it's interfering with your hardware than it makes it useless and before you can get to work, you need to remove the entire thing which isn't hassle free like their tool-less installation for drives and video cards. In the end this is a nice case, it the kind of case that's worth every penny and since it's not that expensive too buy, it's a good choice if your looking for a case that has it all. Just make sure you pick the version with the included power supply and side windows!”

- HardwareLogic: Danger Den Tower-26 Case Review:
“Pardon the cliché, but in this case, there's no getting around saying it: Pictures just don't do the Tower-26 justice. Period. It's an incredible product with easy assembly, the build quality is outstanding, and for those of you that need to show off your $3000-$4000 system, nothing else compares.
Complaints? Just a few. There is no exhaust fan on the Tower-26, just slats cut into the acrylic. This means you'll probably need to add some active cooling to the chipset area if you plan to watercool your rig. Also, the front panel power button connections are about 4 inches too short, especially if you have a radiator mounted in the front section of the case. Finally, I think the PSU could have been mounted an inch or two higher, which would have made cable management much easier. As it stands, you'll need every bit of cable length possible.
Bottom line is this: If you want to show off your bad ass system, the Tower-26 is the ultimate E-Penis.”

- TechwareLabs: In Win Metal Suit - GunDam Case:
“As mentioned in the introduction, In Win's Gundam comes with a dual VGA cooling system. In Win found a way to attach two 80 mm fans to the case without actually consuming as significant amount of space or complicating the installation. As you can see in the pictures below, the fans are attached to the inside of the case and open down to reveal the motherboard. This design provided me with plenty of space to work on the motherboard.
Also as can be noted from the pictures the fans are removable and adjustable. If you are not using a large graphics card and are more focused on storage, the right fan can be flipped up 90 degrees to provided extra cooling for your hard drive. While the left fan can not be flipped up, it can be removed to provided you with even more space.”
