Zotac Graphics Card Review Roundup - GeForce 9500, GeForce 9800, GTX 260

Thu 2008-09-04 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Benchmark Reviews, Futurelooks, and TweakTown have reviewed GeForce 9500, GeForce 9800, and GTX 260 graphics cards from Zotac.

Here’s what they had to say:

  • Benchmark Reviews: ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX+ Zone Edition Video Card:

“In conclusion, I feel that the ZOTAC ZONE Edition GeForce 9800 GTX+ has a lot to offer gamers and enthusiast than we might first expect. For most video cards functionality is measured in only one application: video games. However, the 9800 GTX+ can suit more than just one purpose. The ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX+ includes native HDMI video output and offers digital audio output through the attached S/PDIF audio cable, making this a fully-functional HDMI output solution for home theater buffs. Collectively rated, the G92 graphics processor offers full HDMI audio and video output, excellent cooling improvements, and triple-SLI functionality. I won't dispute that the results we recorded in most benchmarks were right in line with those of the Radeon HD 4850 which costs about the same, but then again ATI doesn't have a water-cooled version (and they need it). While value is a relative subject, the performance and functionality appear to have some credence in relation to the product cost.”

  • Futurelooks: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 260 AMP! Edition Video Card Review:

“In the end we have a decently priced video card with a decent performance profile. It may not quite be in budget card territory, but the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 260 AMP! Edition is definitely hard to ignore. The only thing holding it back is that it’s not the best card. Still it performs very well, and for that it deserves much praise from us. Not to mention, ZOTAC just recently increased their warranty to a full 5 years so if you keep your card that long, it’s nice to know the company has your back.”

  • TweakTown: ZOTAC GeForce 9500 GT ZONE Edition Graphics Card:

“All in all, ZOTAC have done a pretty good job with the 9500 GT. There’s really only so much you can do with a low-end card and we think that ZOTAC have done the right things to make it stand out from the competition. A native HDMI port would have been perfect, but the route they’ve gone is almost just as good.

This card is going to be more attractive to some people over the Point of View which offered a native HDMI port, for the simple reason that you’ve got a silent cooler attached to it.”

Zotac has definitely become a respectable player in the graphics card market, the more the merrier!
