500W-1250W Power Supply Review Roundup - Cooler Master, Enermax, Thermaltake
CPU3D, DriverHeaven, InsideHW, and JonnyGURU have reviewed 500W to 1250W power supplies from Cooler Master,
Enermax, and Thermaltake.
Let’s see what they had to say:
- CPU3D:
Enermax MODU82+ 525W PSU:
“It's safe to say I can fully recommend the Enermax MODU82+ 525W PSU. It offers very good build quilty, excellent stabilty, it's certified 80+, features a modular cable management system AND comes with Enermax's 3 years warranty. All-in-all a very good buy. For the more demanding enthusiast user ... Enermax does offer their enthusiast range of PSUs starting from 850W and higher.”

- DriverHeaven: Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W PSU:
“The Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W unit is designed to deliver very good electrical performance and a high power output for powering servers and high end gaming systems. It is a very efficient unit and stays very cool, so overclockers are going to love it. Modders should avoid it though as it is not a modular PSU and it has a lot of long cables which are going to be a pain to hide inside even the best of cases. That said, if you are looking for very good electrical and thermal performance along with a very high power output, the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 1250W is one of the better products in its class.”

- InsideHW: Cooler Master Silent Pro M600:
“Choice of components for test rig isn’t accidental. We picked them carefully with “worst case scenario” in mind. 65nm Quad Core processors (especially if they are overclocked) are truly big power consumers, and two NV 9800GTX graphics cards were up to now problem for PSUs of other manufacturers with similar characteristics. We can only conclude that Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 passed the test and when you add the fact that CM gives 5-year warranty on this model than InsideHW Approved award is definitely deserved. In the end we must mention that Silent Pro series has, at this moment, models with 500W and 700W output capacity and both are modular type.”

- JonnyGURU: Thermaltake Toughpower QFan 500W Power Supply Review:
“Performance (40% of the final score) - since I can't go by my crazy efficiency numbers to hand in a score here, I'm going to take up the numbers from the 80 Plus website. The good news is though, those numbers are still pretty darned awesome, with the unit taking a bronze certification home. In addition to the 2% voltage regulation, low ripple and noise, quietness of the fan; this unit is one of the best performing 500W units I've seen. I'm going to bestow on it the same 9.5 I gave big brother.”

Every one of these power supplies are top-notch and worthy of any enthusiast system...just don't run CrossFire or SLI on the sub-600W models ;)
