Gigabyte & Palit GeForce 9800 GT Comparison

Mon 2008-10-06 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
HotHardware have tested and compared two mainstream GeForce 9800 GT graphics cards from Gigabyte and Palit.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Based solely on their benchmark results, the 9800 GT cards we tested didn't bring anything new to the table. Both cards were able to handle the Radeon HD 3850 and HD 3870, but they only hung alongside the 8800s. Comparing the Gigabyte and Palit cards head-to-head, the 1GB Palit card had a slight edge in a couple of tests, but more often than not the Gigabyte card finished slightly out in front.”

As most of you are aware, the GeForce 9800 GT is simply a rebranded GeForce 8800 GT so if you can find a cheap 8800 GT don’t hesitate to buy it. However, if the price difference between a GeForce 8800GT/9800GT and a Radeon HD 4850 is less than $30-40, definitely for the Radeon...it is a must faster graphics card.
