SilverStone Raven Gaming Mouse Review

Wed 2008-10-08 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
PureOverclock have posted a review of the unique SilverStone Raven gaming mouse.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Silverstone is trying to jump into a mouse market that is almost exclusively dominated by two companies, Logitech and Razer. This is no small feat. And in true Silverstone fashion, they've pushed the envelope wtih a very innovative product that is aesthetic and well-built. But the tradeoff with this innovation is that there is a steep learning curve for this mouse, and that is something that consumers may not want to tackle on what should be a simple peripheral.

The Raven features a plethora of buttons, which is both a blessing and a curse. The sheer potential to utilize those buttons for shortcuts and tasks is superb, but the execution leaves something to be desired; the force needed to simply click each of those buttons is very different from one another, and that is hard to get accustomed to.”

The Raven is a highly innovative first attempt by SilverStone, and they have gotten a lot of elements right. However, at $75 it is slightly too expensive to draw people away from their Logitech and Razer mice.
