DFI P45 Motherboard Reviews

Fri 2008-10-10 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
BIOS, CPU3D, and MadShrimps have reviewed P45 motherboards from DFI.

Let’s see what they had to say:

  • CPU3D: DFI LanParty JR P45-T2RS Motherboard:

“DFI have created an extremely appealing micro ATX motherboard aimed at the LAN party enthusiast. The DFI LanParty JR P45-T2RS not only features Intel's already proven P45 chipset, but it also supports DDR2 ram, which is readily available, and more importantly ... the support Crossfire mode using the dual PCIe slots included. To add to the list of features, it contains some of the features found on higher-end motherboards, such as the internal power-on and reset switches, as well as the clear CMOS jumper on the rear ATX I/O panel.

Overall, the performance of the DFI LanParty JR P45-T2RS is on par with other P45 based motherboards. It may not be the fastest, but it competed very well against the likes of Asus and Gigabyte. So for a micro ATX motherboard with so many featurtes ... I really have no complaints about its performance.”

  • MadShrimps: DFI Lanparty DK P45-T2RS Plus Motherboard Review:

“At the end of the day, I sit back and smile because DFI has done it again, like I expected from this mainstream overclocking motherboard. The performance is again top notch and as we hoped, overclocking is easy. We have seen people hit FSB frequencies up to 690MHz with this motherboard, still using the stock northbridge cooling; that says enough, no? Agreed, if you're not interested in overclocking at all, there's no need to choose this board over any other one, simply because there are no extras. If you want to build a system that offers more than the mere minimum, leave this one on the shelves and check out, for instance, the Asus Maximus II Formula, which offers so much more than only overclocking. The price is higher, of course.”

DFI have produced some solid offerings with the P45 Express chipset, so check out these reviews if you are in the market for a new socket 775 motherboard.
