ASUS VK246H 24-inch LCD Monitor Review

Wed 2009-01-07 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Rbmods have posted a review of the ASUS VK246H, a fully-featured 24-inch LCD monitor.

Here's what they had to say:

"This is a very nice monitor with some nice and cool features like HDMI and speakers. I can find this at a few places here in Sweden and the price seems to be around 400$ USD which is not to bad. It's about 100$ more than a Beng Full HD monitor at the same size but the question is what type of quality Benq can offer. I am very satisified with this monitor; the colors are and clear, and the picture very comfortable to view for longer periods. HDMI puts it ahead of alot of 24 inch monitors on the market and the speakers give you a nice sound boost if you lack speakers or don't want to carry speakers to your LAN party. The back bleed problem is less than on most monitors we have looked at but the problem is still there and it can mainly be seen in movies. In games and normal windows usage it works great, now i'm not saying it looks bad in movies but the bleed is a tad annoying. The second con is the webcam software that wont work with Vista 64 bits which is quite annoying. Otherwise I am quite satisfied with this and would not hesitate to use it myself."

As with the Viewsonic VX2260WM, this new ASUS model sports the newly popular 1920 x 1080 resolution. When you consider its excellent connectivity, built-in speakers & microphone, and supposedly solid image quality, the $300+ price tag seems quite reasonable.
