Plantronics .Audio 655 PC Headset Review

"There are cheaper VoIP (voice over IP) headsets on the market if your needs are basic, but Plantronics’ .Audio 655 is solid and delivers exemplary voice quality. If you’re a heavy Skype user you could do a lot worse - as long as you’re not after the ultimate in comfort. On the downside, music, video and gaming payback is disappointing, with an almost total absence of bass and lifeless trebles. Music playback is also muffled and lacks any punch, warmth or clarity. The .Audio 655 headset definitely isn’t suitable for those who like their multimedia heavy. Those should look elsewhere for a headset that’s a lot more confident and forceful. One suggestion is Logitech’s awesome G35 Gaming Headset, but that’ll cost you well over twice as much money. You might even want to consider a wireless solution, such as Plantronics’ .Audio 955 (from £43.49/$63.40). For voice-centric applications, the .Audio 655 is a very good all-rounder given the relatively low price."
