Netbook & Notebook Reviews - ASUS, Dell, Lenovo, MSI
Driverheaven, HotHardware, Legit Reviews, t-break, and Techgage have reviewed various netbooks and notebooks from ASUS, Dell, Lenovo, and MSI.
Let's see what they had to say:
- Driverheaven: Lenovo ThinkPad T500 Laptop Review:
"If you’re looking for a portable, durable device that can provide you with a workstation on the go the ThinkPad T500 is certainly worth consideration. With a clever design combining functionality and useful security features it is an attractive product for both important business and personal use."

- Driverheaven: MSI GX723 Gaming Laptop Review:
"The GX723 is certainly a quality product from MSI and offers a great overall package.
The chassis is easily one of the most impressive aspects of the design and starting with an aluminium base MSI have created a laptop which exhibits fantastic rigidity and everything is well constructed.
While performance may not be akin to that of a gaming powerhouse the laptop has a well balanced set of components which can certainly be appreciated. It makes a great all-rounder with decent gaming performance in the lighter titles and the CPU has enough punch to get you through common tasks."

- HotHardware: Asus Eee PC 1005HA Seashell Review:
"In our SiSoftware Sandra testing, the 1005HA managed to perform exactly as we expected considering just how familiar this specification list has become. In other words, it's not significantly stronger or weaker than any other Windows XP-powered netbook out there, though it performs most similarly to the N280-equipped Eee PC 1008HA. Basic tasks were handled with relative ease (a minor amount of lag when multi-tasking; nothing out of the ordinary for a low-power netbook), though 3D gaming is a no-go. Select 720p clips (WMVHD) played back relatively smoothly, though 720p H.264 and 1080p multimedia clips could not play back well at all on the weak GMA 950 graphics."

- Legit Reviews: MSI Wind U100-641US 10-inch Netbook Review:
"The MSI Wind U100-641US netbook is pretty much what you would expect from an average netbook. It includes the typical Intel Atom N270 processor, 1 GB DDR2 RAM, Windows XP, a basic video card and low power consumption. It is also compact, light-weight and perfect for traveling. It is a typical netbook.
When it comes to benchmarks, the MSI Wind U100 really stayed on par with the other netbooks we tested. It never outshined another netbook, but nor did it fall behind in anything except for the slower transfer rates in HD Tune. I should mention that the future generation Wind netbooks have a much larger hard drive, and their HD Tune scores should be competitive with other netbooks. MSI made an error internally and failed to send us the right hard drive with this netbook."

- t-break: Dell Adamo 1.2GHz:
"Overall, the Adamo is a step in the right direction showing Dell is capable of coming close to Apple when it comes to integrating design and functionality. The Adamo has a lot going for it and might very well be the best looking notebook in the “PC” market but there are a few rough edges that Dell should focus on with upcoming models."

- Techgage: ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell Netbook:
"Overall, I'm very impressed with the 1008HA, and though it has a few drawbacks, it's the best-looking netbook available (in my opinion) and lacks nothing (aside from upgradable storage and memory). If you like the design of the Seashell but aren't that fussy, then I highly recommend you take a look at the 1005HA. It doesn't look quite as clean, but the other perks (among a lower price) make it almost unbeatable."
