Kingston HyperX T1 PC3-16000 3GB Memory Kit Review

Thu 2009-07-02 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Hardware Logic have posted a review of the Kingston HyperX T1 PC3-16000 3GB memory kit, which has 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65V or less.

Here's what they had to say:

"As expected, Kingston's HyperX T1 kit provided excellent results on our test bench with a combination of high speed and low latency. We like the addition of XMP profiles to aid consumers reach rated specs easily. In additon, the large heatspreader design looks great while providing increased cooling. And the kit did have overclocking headroom at 1.65V which is a good sign for tweakers looking to get even more performance, especially if they are willing to add more voltage.

For those looking for enthusiast grade memory, there are several options. In general, tri-channel memory is now very affordable with exceptions being the top binned, high frequency, ultra-low latency kits. But $100 will land you excellent memory nowadays, stemming from the competition between manufacturers to get your business."

This kit is clearly made of Elpida ICs, as evidenced by the timings flexibility and high memory clock speeds. If only Kingston made a 6GB kit of this model, which is a mystery for the ages, I would recommend it to just about anyone looking to achieve the best possible benchmark numbers.
