AMD 785G Chipset IGP Video Performance Preview
NeoSeeker have posted a performance preview of the integrated GPU in the new AMD 785G chipset.
Let's see what they say:
"Although not as good as I expected in my first article, the HD 4200 can still be used to play great games flawlessly as we have just seen this time, even if it is not its main purpose. Just don't expect to be able to run the latest, GPU-intensive games.
The 785G also proved to be a great movie decoder, thanks to the Unified Video Decoder 2 technology. With it, great energy savings can be achieved, since the processor can throttle while the HD 4200 handles almost all the decoding. Even with both the CPU and GPU under full load, the system did not go over 137W."
Any way you cut it, the 785G is a terrific IGP chipset and you really shouldn't consider anything else for your HTPC or budget-oriented computer.
