Thermaltake Element G & Element T Case Review

Tue 2009-08-25 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Bigbruin, Overclockers Online, PureOverclock, and TestFreaks have reviewed the Thermaltake Element G and Element T mid-tower cases.

Here's what they had to say:

  • Bigbruin: Thermaltake Element G Mid-Tower PC Case Review:

"Thermaltake has supplied its customers with top notch products for some time now and the Element G is no different. It is a well thought out case that includes the basics we expect, and some interesting extras to set it apart from the large crowd of cases out there.

I didnft find that the lack of a tool-less design constituted a flaw, so with that in mind the only real flaw I could find was a lack of an eSATA connection on the front panel.

So in the end what are we left with? The Element G is a case that reflects a great deal of thought and effort in its design. We have immense cooling, vast amounts of room for hard drives and some of the best cable management you can get. If you are looking for a mid tower case that will not only accommodate the larger video cards and motherboards, but do it in style, then the Element G is right up your alley."

  • Overclockers Online: Thermaltake Element T Mid-Tower PC Case Review:

"The Element T certainly brings a different package and look than the Element G. The Element T brings a lot of to the table when it comes to storage with six 3.5" bays and one space to mount a SSD drive. There is enough room that worries should be minimal for full size power supplies or larger heatsinks.

The Element T is an entry level case and as such is somewhat light on what's included. You only get two fans that are both removing air from the case. While I liked the reusable PCI slot covers, it was odd to not see any screws included to secure PCI devices.

While the Element T is somewhat barebones, it offers a lot of room and options to tweak it to your liking. It is a decent value if you are looking for a good mid tower case but you don't want all of the expensive features."

  • PureOverclock: Thermaltake Element T Mid-Tower PC Case Review:

"This case allows the consumer flexibility. Instead of outgrowing a case, the Element T can grow right along with you, and you wonft have to start again from scratch. For $75, the Element T offers more than your basic, garden-variety $50 budget case but also lacks the heftier price tag of those in the $100+ segment, sitting nicely in between. The Thermaltake Element T is a rather straightforward case, offering nice aesthetics, handy features and a rather roomy interior, a quiet setup, and an attractive price tag. We're still not sure what Thermaltake means when they say this is a "professional" case, as it seems heavily geared toward gamers, though we doubt professional gamers would be using a case that only costs $75. While the Thermaltake Element T isn't exceptional in any one area, it does offer a good package overall for people on a budget."

  • TestFreaks: Thermaltake Element T Mid-Tower PC Case Review:

"The Element T is a well designed, spacious case, itfs simple yet elegant, a nice basic case really. Most any system should fit in the Element T with no problems at all, even the largest video cards will fit without difficulty.

Ifm not sure what Thermaltake was thinking when they only included one tool-less bay for each 5.25h and 3.5h bay though, why not have all of them like that?"

  • TechwareLabs: Thermaltake Element G Mid-Tower PC Case Review:

"Overall, I am satisfied with this case. There were some great aspects and some disappointing ones. I was pleased with the provided clamp for wiring, and the convenient handle to remove the front piece. There is also a lock for the keyboard and mouse wires, which greatly helps organize the cables that are external to your case. I was disappointed that many of the Input/Output plates are not replaceable. It would have been easy to include quick connectors for the 5.25 bays or have the option of using quick connectors instead of screws. The one thing that was truly devastating was that there was no place for a card reader in this case. That would have been a nice addition, but it is something that I can live without."
