Thermaltake ISGC-300 & ISGC-400 CPU Cooler Reviews

Thu 2009-10-08 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Hardware Secrets have reviewed two high-end CPU coolers from Thermaltake, the ISGC-300 and ISGC-400.

Here's what they had to say:

  • Hardware Secrets: Thermaltake ISGC-300 CPU Cooler Review:

"The first Thermaltake ISGC series cooler we reviewed, ISGC-100, showed a poor performance. The ISGC-200, by its turn, brought a fairly good efficiency. Now, the ISGC-300 we review proved to be one of the best coolers we have tested so far. With the fan at full speed its performance is excellent, fighting with the best performance coolers we have reviewed, while keeping a good noise level. With low speed on the fan, it is almost inaudible, one of the quietest we have tested, keeping a very good cooling performance. It may not have the fanciest look, but does not look bad with its white fan."

  • Hardware Secrets: Thermaltake ISGC-400 CPU Cooler Review:

"The ISGC-400, as well as other coolers with a similar design, did not perform well on our tests. In the ISGC series, it was better just than ISGC-100, but it was worst than ISGC-200 and far worst than ISGC-300, the best of them.

Its noise level was not bad, but it was also not one of the quieter we tested. Talking about price, it is an expensive cooler for the performance it offers."

Both of these coolers are quite good, but if you do some research you can find other models that offer better cooling performance and a little better value as well. And you may have to, since as of this writing, availability for either of these products is not that great.
