NZXT Lexa S Case Reviews

Fri 2009-10-23 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Hardware Secrets, High Tech Reviews, PureOverclock, and techPowerUp have reviewed the new NZXT Lexa S, the company's third case to carry the Lexa name.

Here's what they had to say:

  • Hardware Secrets:

"We think this is a terrific product for the user that is on a budget and is looking for a good product. It is USD 10 more expensive than M59, however it comes with two fan speed controllers and two fans more than M59. If you want the ability to control the speed of the fans from your case – for example, slowing the fans down when you are not playing for lower noise level and cranking them up when you are for higher ventilation – it is worthwhile paying USD 10 more to get this case."

  • High Tech Reviews:

"With all of the fans operating and the fan on the Thermaltake 120 eXtreme running a max speed we were barely able to hear the system when it was running. The overall fit and finish of the NZXT Lexa S is top notch and it should be anyone's short list for a second computer or perhaps one for the son, daughter, wife or mistress. The design will fit comfortably in any local and it will make a great gamer or business computer. SO what's left to say other than go out and snag one for yourself."

  • PureOverclock:

"The Lexa S is a good case for what you pay; fans aplenty, very sleek, attractive aesthetic, nice to work in, but can be a pain to wire. If you're looking for an attractive LAN case to drag around, or even to maybe put WC into (which would look awesome through the window with some cold cathode lights), then look no further. Wiring complaints aside, this is a superbly crafted case at a great price."

  • techPowerUp:

"The NZXT Lexa S presents an interesting evolution in the Lexa Series. On one hand the "S" variant comes with an all black interior and an updated design, but on the other hand is aimed at a totally different market. That said, expect the omission of a few more expensive features like an LCD screen or an elaborate door lock. You will however get a lot of new features not found in the previous Lexa cases. Most of these are more of the functional kind instead of having that "wow" factor."

This case is surprisingly well-suited for water cooling, and it's fairly cheap too, but be sure that you knows its shortcomings.
