Kingwin HTC XT-1264 CPU Cooler Review

Mon 2009-10-26 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Modders-Inc and Tweaknews have reviewed the Kingwin HTC XT-1264 CPU cooler.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • Modders-Inc:

" The Kingwin XT-1264 had no issues when it came time to cool the Over Clocked Core i7. Sure it came in just a little behind the other coolers tested, but it did it at a lower cost which means it offers a slightly better price / performance ratio. When it comes to looks, the Kingwin XT-1264 isn't the flashiest cooler on the market. Adding the flashy stuff increases the price range and defeats the purpose of doing a budget minded cooler in the first place. Unfortunately, we are not all case modders that want the absolute best looking hardware we can get. Some of us are actually interested in performance more than looks... Go Figure!"

  • Tweaknews:

" Kingwin's XT-1264 CPU cooler is a good looking product with some interesting features that should have delivered some outstanding performance. Unfortunately, it showed some rather lackluster cooling performance. There are, however some features and attributes that keep the XT-1264 from being a total bust."

This cooler's performance is nothing to write home about and the push-pin mounting system for LGA775 and LGA1366 is disappointing. For the same money (if not less) you can get the superior Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus or Sunbeam Core-Contact Freezer.
