Gaming Mouse Review Roundup - Cooler Master, Qpad, Razer, Sharkoon

Tue 2009-11-03 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Driverheaven, I4U, and Rbmods have reviewed various gaming mice from Cooler Master, Qpad, Razer, and Sharkoon.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • Driverheaven: Cooler Master Sentinel Mouse & Gaming Surfaces Review:

"Altogether the Cooler Master Storm Sentinel is a great all-round gaming mouse which really lives up to its specification for a reasonable price. I would happily use it as my main mouse for regular long gaming stints and would be completely satisfied with its performance.

The only slightly disappointing thing about the Sentinel is the design – it is a little over-complicated. Certainly this will be entirely down to personal taste but I prefer the look of the Steelseries Ikari and Razer Mamba, however the Sentinel is still an appealing design which I am sure a lot of people will enjoy."

  • Driverheaven: Razer Naga MMO Mouse Review:

"All-in-all the Naga is a great product, although its button keypad does limit its desirability somewhat specifically to MMO gamers, even though it performs well throughout most genres of games. Coming in at a little over £50, it is priced at a similar level to a lot of gaming mice and although it may not be the most appropriate mouse for many gamers, it’s ideal for those who are serious about MMOs."

  • Driverheaven: Sharkoon FireGlider Laser Gaming Mouse Review:

"The FireGlider is a great all round mouse, encompassing good build quality with a somewhat unusual aesthetic design. Gaming performance was impressive, especially for a mouse of this price, and all of the necessary features for serious gaming have been catered for.

I would recommend the FireGlider mainly for casual gamers considering the very attractive price point and slightly limited DPI settings. Even if you’re not a fan of the flame design, I would still recommend this mouse as it is impressive in most areas and fantastic value for money."

  • I4U: Cooler Master Storm Sentinel Advanced Gaming Mouse Review:

"The Sentinel Advanced Gaming Mouse is a great gaming mouse that sells for about $70. If you need a good gaming mouse with extra little features to set it apart from the other products available, the Sentinel Advanced Gaming Mouse may be just what you are looking for."

  • Rbmods: Qpad 5K Mouse Review:

"I personally like the mouse, its a bit to big for my hand to be completely comfortable but I do have a smaller hand than most. The mouse works great in windows and has no lag or delay in games either, the only con that I can find so far is that it's lacking weights that can be removed. Mionix as an example showed a great example with having several small weights so you can change the weight to fit you perfectly. The mouse sells for about 80$ which is not to bad when you look at other gaming mice on the market.

I liked the sleeved cable also, it prevents the cable from entagling itself and also protects it from at least my cats. Software was very logical and easy to use and I liked the function where you could control the height you can lift the mouse of the surface."
