Gigabyte P55-UD6 Motherboard Reviews

Wed 2009-11-11 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Hardware Secrets and TweakTown have posted a review of the Gigabyte P55-UD6, a high-end Intel P55 Express motherboard that supports the new LGA1156 processors.

Here's what they had to say:

  • Hardware Secrets:

"Gigabyte P55-UD6 is an excellent top shelf motherboard for the socket 1156 platform. Its strong points include the presence of twelve SATA-300 ports (with two eSATA ports), six memory sockets, support to SLI and CrossFireX modes, 24-phase voltage regulator circuit, heatpipe cooling for the regulator transistors and a high quality audio codec. And there is also the nice box, which surely will draw the attention on any shelf."

  • TweakTown:

"Another day, another Lynnfield down. GIGABYTE's adaptation of a mainstream chipset for high-end applications is extremely impressive. First off, the layout of the board was extremely clean. Component placement is as expected from GIGABYTE; clean, crisp and functional.

The Lynnfield/P55 combination is extremely useful; it’s finally good to see an affordable replacement for the Core 2 Duo and with the amount of power Core i5 and i7 800 series have under the hood, it’s no wonder AMD has a long journey ahead of them and it’s definitely good to see the chase happen.

As for GIGABYTE's P55-UD6, this is one board we would recommend without any hesitations, a simply fantastic board."

This motherboard has a lot of firsts & unique features that differentiate it from every other P55 motherboard on the market. As a result, if you're interested in a high-end model, it's definitely worth a look.
