500W-630W Power Supply Review Roundup
DriverHeaven, Hardware Secrets, Rbmods, and TechwareLabs have reviewed various 500W to 630W power supplies from Cooler Master, Nexus, and Ultra.
Let's see what they had to say:
- DriverHeaven: Ultra X4 500W PSU Review:
"The overall performance of the Ultra X4 500W unit is good. Most enthusiasts would class its electrical performance as middling because it offers good electrical efficiency but has average performing voltage regulation capabilities - that said the performance is better than many similar units in the same category. The good heatsinks improve the thermal and acoustics performance, which when combined with the modular design makes the 500W X4 a very solid choice for discerning HTPC users."

- Hardware Secrets: Nexus RX-6300 630 W Power Supply Review:
"Nexus RX-6300 was a really nice surprise, with efficiency between 83.2% and 86.6% in our tests. Although it is not 80 Plus certified, it achieved a performance that would easily get an 80 Plus Bronze certification, if the manufacturer wanted to.
We could easily deliver its labeled power at 50º C and we could overload this baby up to 840 W without burning it."

- Rbmods: Nexus NX-5000 PSU Review:
"This unit is very silent, it competes with the Enermax cpu that we reviewed earlier in noise and also in stability and rail stability. The unit is well packed and I feel that Nexus have managed to make another product that well meets the demands I require from Nexus products.
The biggest con so far is the availability, I have not been able to find this specific cpu in Sweden yet although I managed to find an older version. Overall I am veryhappy with the unit and will give it our recommendations for a silent psu that still performs extremely well."

- TechwareLabs: CoolerMaster Silent Pro M 600W Power Supply Review:
"The Silent Pro M lives up to it’s name, it is as silent as they come. With my ear right beside the fan all I heard was the crickets outside my window. This PSU is quite and doesn’t produce a lot of heat. Being partially modular it’s easy to avoided extra wires hanging everywhere. Don’t expect this to support flagship video cards but it has enough wattage to support a lot of high end computer systems and do it efficiently and reliably."

Those Nexus RX series PSUs are mighty impressive, 840W from a 630W unit is insane!
